Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church - Singles Ministries

Welcome to The Sunday Night Singles of Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church.

The main program provides social events in a safe and comfortable setting for any single whether separated, divorced, widowed or never married.

All events are open where you participate at your own pace. Included in our yearly agenda is a luau, two holiday picnics (Memorial and Labor Day), theme dances the last Sunday of each month, with cook-outs and our special chili cook-off. During the holidays there is a gift tree to a local charity, caroling, a special Christmas Dinner for 400 at the Nast Trinity Church downtown.

Our volunteers are recognized each year with an off-site catered appreciation dinner.  Some of our off-site events for the group include a progressive dinner, a recent road trip to see Tecumseh, and a hayride.

There is fellowship for all ages and interests.  We hope to meet you soon.

SNS classes include a Divorce Care 1 and Divorce Care 11 both are designed to go through the stages of a new single life.  The topics progress from grief, loneliness, fear and anger to building self worth, singleness and enjoying it, forgiveness and new relationships. Each set of classes are 8 weeks long, confidential in nature which promotes sharing and trust.  

If you are interested in more of a "Christian Spiritual Support Class" that is also available to all singles covering an array of subjects for Christian living.

There is usually an open format in the "Rap" group but the subjects have a core topic covering issues important to a successful dating experience.

We have video classes addressing successful marriage, cooking demonstrations with hands on opportunities. You can see we are a diverse group with many talents and interests.
